Lions District Governor Ln Shridhar Shenava pays official visit to Lions Club Moodubelle

Moodubelle, 07 Feb 2016: The Lion Club’s District Governor Ln. Shridhar Shenava paid an official visit to Lions Club Moodubelle on Friday the 5th February 2016.

 

The program began at about 7:30pm with a prayer by  Joy Fernandes followed by a one minute silence for World Peace.  The dignitaries on the dais included Lions District Governor Ln. Shridhar Shenava, mjf Mrs. Jyothi Shenava, First Lady of the District, Ln. Domian Noronha-Zone Chairman, Ln. Satish Shetty, pmjf – Region Chairman, Ln. V.T. Hegde, District Treasurer, Ln. Eugene DSouza, President of Lions Club Moodubelle, Secretary Commodore Jerome Castelino (VSM), mjf and  Ln. Elias Lobo, mjf – Treasurer.

 

Ln. Dr. Eugene D’Souza (President, Lions Club Moodubelle) accorded a hearty welcome to District Governor Ln. Shridhar Shenava mjf and other dignitaries on the dais.

 

Commodore Jerome Castelino (VSM), mjf read out the annual report and highlighted vaious activities organized by the Moodubelle Lions Club. Some of the activities he highlighted were participating in Vanamahotsava and planting a few trees, conducting of Free Eye Check up Camp and Yoga Camp for 15 days which received a overwhelming attendance by locals and inducting a few more members to the club.

 

 

One of the social services activities undertaken this year by Lions Club Moodubelle was obtaining sanction letter foor electricity connection to the residence of Mrs. Sunitha Gomes.  Mrs. Sunitha Gomes along with her 3 children Aisha, Nisha and Amisha received the Electricity sanction letter from the District Governer accompanied by Ms. Lilly Lobo, Ln. Henry Fernandes and Alphonse K. Alva who had helped in getting the sanction letter. Ln. Commodre Jerome Castelino promised to provide them with a desk and a few chairs for enabling tthe children to study.

 

The land measuring 3.5 cents for the house of Mrs. Sunitha Gomes was donated by a generous lady Mrs. Monica D’Souza who also helped in the construction of the house. Mrs. Monica D’Souza was honoured by Ln. Shridhar Shenava during this occasion.

 

Ln. Devdas Hebbar, mjf introduced the District Governor Ln. Shridhar Shenava mjf.  In his Presidential address Ln. Shridhar Shenava appreciated the various activities taken up by Lions Club Mbelle and congratulated them for completing them successfully.

 

On the occasion Governor handed over appreciation letter and Lion pin from International President to past presidents and committee members for their dedicated service to  the club.

 

Ln. Elias D’Souza read out the Apprecition Resolution and Ln. Dr. Eugene D’Souza handed it over to the Governor.

 

The District Governor presented appreciation certificate from International Lions President for completing more than 10 years to Ln. Henry Fernandes, Ln. Ivan D’Almeida and  Ln. Rajendra Shetty. 

 

Ln. Shridhar Shenava felicitated the office beaers of the Lions Club Moodubelle.

 

Ln. Satish Shetty, pmjf and Ln. Thallur Shivaram Shetty in their brief addresses appreciated the good work done by Lions Club Moodubelle.

 

Ln. Wilfred D’Souza, mjf, Past District Governor and Ln. George Samuel, Cabinet Coordinator were also present for the function. 

 

Office bearers and members of the Lions Clubs of the Zone-Pernal, Shirva-Manchakal and Subhasnagar were also present for the function.

 

Ln. Elias Lobo proposed the vote of thanks and the event concluded with National Anthem.
