Lions Club Moodubelle organizes Free Eye Check Up Camp

Udupi, 20 Sep 2015: Lions Club Moodubellein association with Prasad Netralaya, Udupi organized free eye check up camp on Sunday, 20 September 2015 from 10 am to 1 pm. This was the fifteenth such camp organized by the Lions Club Moodubelle with the help of Prasad Netralaya. 105 villagers took advantage of this camp.
The free eye check up camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Krishna Prasad, MS(Ophtho) by lighting the lamp along with Dr. Shamanth Shetty, Ln. Dr. Eugene DSouza and Ln Commodore Jerome Castelino(VSM), mjf -President and Secretary of Lions Club Moodubelle and Mrs. Precilla Alva-President of Moodubelle Unit of Health Commission of Udupi Diocese who were on the dais.
In his address, Dr. Krishna Prasad explained the importance of sight and the need to take care of the yes from an early age. He appreciated the efforts made by the Lions Club Moodubelle, especially Commodore Jerome Castelino in organizing the free eye check up camp for the last 15 years for the benefit of the people of Moodubelle and surrounding regions.
Dr. Krishna Prasad and Dr. Shamanth Shetty conducted the eye check up camp in association with Sister Victoria and other staff members of Prasad Netralaya. Those who require cataract operation will be taken to the Prasad Netralaya hospital for free operation and treatment. Spectacles at concessional rate will be provided for those who are in need of them.
The free eye check up camp was sponsored by Mr. Arvind Ballal and family from Mumbai.
Miss Hezel Martis and group presented prayer song, Ln. Dr. Eugene D’Souza welcomed the guests and Ln. Commodore Jerome Castelino proposed the vote of thanks. The arrangements for the free eye camp were made by Ln. Elias Lobo, MJF.
