The 57th birthday of Shri Amritanandamayi Amma will be celebrated by Shri Mata Amritanandamayi Mata Seva Samiti on 10th October 2010 at Bannanje Shri Narayana Guru Kalyanamantapa. During this occasion various social welfare programmes will be undertaken as every year.
This year’s birthday celebration will be held in the presence of one of Amma’s devout disciple Poornamritanandapuri Swamiji. A shobhayatre will be undertaken at 3.30 pm from the Udupi Board High School to Bannanje Shri Narayana Guru Kalyanamantapa. At 6.30 pm a programme will be held presided over by Dr. V.S. Acharya, Minister-in-charge of Udupi District.
Speaking at the agricultural camp organised at Padubelle-Pajaka Kshetra by the Udupi Zilla Krishika Sangha and other local groups recently, Madhwaraya Upadhyaya, the Archaka of Shri Pajaka Kshetra said that in the changing circumstances in the agricultural field such camps providing information to the agriculturists is very important.
Gandhi Jayanti was observed by the Vidyaniketana Group of Educational Institutions, Kaup on 2nd October 2010. During this occasion, the Director of the institutions-K.P Acharya said that the students should adopt the noble principles of Mahatma Gandhi such as truth and non-violence.
The Tulu play, “Gopala yi Paar bala” to be presented by ‘Cha parka..’ group of Mangalore was inaugurated by Malpe’s industrialist, Pramod Madhwaraj on Saturday, 2nd October 2010 at the Poorna Prajna Auditorium. During this occasion, the writer and director of the play-Devdas Kapikad was honoured.
