Moodubelle: 3 days Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava comes to an end

Moodubelle, 14 September 2010: The three days Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava that had started on Saturday, 11th September 2010 at the Geeta Mandir came to an end with a grand visarjane procession on Mondy, 13th September 2010 and immersion of the idol of Ganesh in a pond near Thirlapalke at around 9.15 pm.
During the three days celebration a large number of devotees had participated in the Gana Homa, Mahapuje and annasantarpane on Sunday, 12th September 2010. At 5 pm there was fancy dress competition followed by cultural programme at 7 pm in which children and adults presented dances, songs and skits. At 9pm, a hilarious Tulu play ‘Thuvare Barper’ written by Dinakar Bhandary of Kanajar and directed byPrabhakar Acharya of Edmeru was enacted which entertained the audience.
On Monday, 13th September 2010, games were organised at 4 pm in which children, men and women enthusiastically participated. The visarjane procession started at around 5 pm that passed through the Main Road till Ganapana Katte and returned through the same route and proceeded till Thirlapalke. A large number of people participated in this grand procession. Tiger dancers and bursting of fire crackers were the added attractions during the procession. At around 9.15 pm the idol of Shri Ganesh was immersed in the pond at Thirlapalke with which this year’s Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava came to an end.
The organisation and arrangements of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava was supervised by the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava Committee comprising of Honorary Presidents- Mukunda Puranik and Gopla Shetty; President-Shivaram Salian; Chief Secretary-Devdas Hebbar; Vice Presidents-Gilbert D’Souza, Sudhakar Amin, Satish Shetty, Vikas Shetty and Varadaraj Kamath. Vedamurthy Ganesh Bhat was the chief priest who conducted the Mahapuje and Gana Homa.
