Udupi: Swami Laxmivara offers motion for silver jubilee celebrations of Ganeshotsav Samiti, Tonse

Udupi, Aug 30, 2014 : Swami Laxmivara of Shiroor mutt offered motion for silver jubilee celebrations of public celebration of Ganeshotsav Samiti, Tonse, near Kemmanu, here on Friday August 29.

 

The entrepreneur Jayakrishna Shetty Kemmannu, Professor Dr Y N Shetty, Dr Mohammed Rafiq and Valerian Saldanha were the chief guests of the occasion.

 

The Ganeshotsav Samiti president Kojakuli Krishnaprasad Shetty presided the programme.

 

 

A colorful procession of idol of Lord Ganapati accompanied by motor rally of traditional music was held on the occasion.

 

Teriyade Pondu, Tulu comedy play was presented by the members of Ganeshotsav Samiti, as part of entertainment programme.

 

Ganeshotsav Samiti, Tonse has been celebrating Ganesha Chaturti amongst the people of different faith, caste and creed here since two-and-a-half decade.  It has been engaged in social welfare activities, such as organizing free eye camps, health checkup camps, including religious celebrations in the neighbourhood.
