Mumbai, 09 Nov 2012: The members of St. Joseph’s welfare association (regd) a parish Konkani organisation of Mira Road achieved a new mile stone to fulfill thier long cherished dream to stage a professional drama by the members of their own association. "BOKRO" drama written by Nellu Permannur was staged on 3rd November 2012 at the packed church ground

The programme started with the dance of Vineesha D’Costa. The director of the drama Prasanna Niddodi introduced the artist and the people worked under the stage. The writer "Nellu Permannur" had been in the premises for a week to give final shape for his brain child.

But when the watchman of the hospital finds his wife dead and a dead child besides her, re-exchanges the babies with the help of the staff nurse. With this plan he wanted to put a net on her neighbours wife. He also wanted to take his revenge on this little baby. He does not give his own son the proper education and medication. The son grows but with sickness of his mother of brain hemorrhage. The story winds up when this watchman comes to know that this boy is nobody but his own son when his son is at the death bed due to the lack of medication.

Rony D’Souza & Arun Rodrigues worked behind the curtain. Prasanna Niddodi directed the drama and Nellu Permannur is the author.
The performance of all the artist is praise worthy. Acting of Bombay born little child Master Reevan D’Souza was simply superb.

and Prasanna Niddodi compered the programme beautifully.
In my last ten years stay in Mumbai I am witnessing such a show for the first time. I have witnessed several flop drama’s played by so called professional artist. But the members of St. Joseph’s welfare association for the first time came to the stage and gave the performance better than the plays of so called professional artists. If this example is followed by other association we may definitely witness a new revival in the Konkani stage of Mumbai.
Lovely acting, keep it up association members we want more shows in future....thanks to all
