Harryboy and Joe D’Souza honoured during

Mumbai, 30 October 2011: The fourth "Wilfy Nite" of Diwali season in Mumbai was held yesterday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Ground, Sion, Mumbai. The programme started at 6.15pm and ended at 10.30pm. The tempo of the musical evening diminished because of the stage programme for two times and another break for the eucharistic mass during the show.
The major attraction of the stage programme was the honour bestowed to the two elderly theatre artists. Mr. Harry D’Souza Vakola who is known as "Harryboy" was honoured with fruits, flower, shawl, momento and was given a title as "Kala Chakravarti"
Mr. Joe D’Souza Sion was also honoured with with fruits, flower, shawl, momento and was given a title as "Konkani Ratna". Mrs Meena Rebimbus and the guests on the dais were also honoured with the shawl.
The programme started with the inauguration of the new association "Konkani Welfare Association Sion" by Janet DSouza the Director of Maulana Azad Minorities Finance Development Corporation. Chairman John Rebello, Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman Harry Sequeira, President Dulcine Furtado, Vice President Leena Pinto, Secretary Denis D’Souza, Joint Secretary Hilda Rego, Treasurer Molly Sequeira, Joint Treasurer Rita Aranha and the committee members of the new association were present during the occasion. Politician Raghunat Tavai released the souvenir of the occasion.
Parish Priest of Our Lady of Good Consel Church Fr. Leslie Dominic D’Cunha OFM, Fr. Lancy Pinto, Fr Donath, AICU National Secretary Lawrence Ronnie DSouza, Banker John D’Silva, Entrepreneur John Rebello, Businessman Walter DSouza Jarimari, Politician Satish Ramnayak Matunga were present at the dais.
The following widows were given gift during the occasion. They are Jacintha DCosta, Mary Menezes, Violet Lobo, Concica Fernandes, Pramila J Antony Sita Kadam, Margaret Simon, Rita Noronha, Loretto DCruz, Cecelia and Angeline Joseph.
Lydwin D’Souza compered the programme and Riyan Aranha proposed vote of thanks.
Leslie Rego anchored the whole Wilfy Nite show. A sentimental song "Mojya Kudintlea Shiranim" sung by Ivan Sequeira was well appreciated by the crowd. Meena Rebimbus, Veena Rebimbus, Vishwas Rebimbus, Charleen Rebimbus, Babita Pinto, Munita Veigas, Ivan Sequeira, Claude D’Souza, Prem Kumar Lobo, Avitas Adolphus Cutinho, Stanzy Alfred, Chris Misquith, Felita Fonseca, Renita Lobo, Shabaridas (Tabla), Pitambar (Rhythm Pad), Merwyn Pinto (Bass Guitar), Joswin Pinto (lead guitar), Teo Alvares (Trumphet), Pappan (Keyboard) and Christi took part in the event.
