Doha: MCA to hold “Wilfy Nite” in Qatar on 21st October

Doha, 16 October 2011: Count down has begun for the long awaited “Wilfy Nite” in Qatar under the prestigious Banner of Mangalore Cultural Association Doha Qatar. The Greatest Entertainment in Konkani will be staged at Doha Cinema on Friday October 21st, 2011 at 5.30pm. Wilfy’s troupe comprising of 14 members  will be flown in from Mangalore including – Konkan Myna Meena Rebimbus, Vishwas Rebimbus, Ivan Sequeria, Babita Pinto, Charleen Rebimbus The popular Duo Music Directors who have been associated  with Wilfy since long  – Pappan &  Joswin Pinto along with Peethambaran.

 

 

Ace Comedian Adolphus Cutinha known as Dolla Mangalore and the whole show will be Compered by the Compere beyond Compare Leslie Rego. Dancers Scanzy Alfred, Chris Misquith, Renita Lobo and Felita Fonseca will dance for Wilfy’s foot tapping evergreen numbers. Wilfy’s Daughter Veena Rebimbus Pais will join the troupe along with few selected voices of Qatar, who have already made their mark among the Doha Konkans. GVOM-2 Runner up Preema Pinto & GVOM- 2 Finalist Rupert Lobo, along with Remy D’Souza and Naveen Pinto will join the other talented singers from the MCA family.

 

 

The songs will comprise of Wilfy’s Golden Old Hits along with some new songs composed by his children Veena & Vishwas. As the title says “The Legacy Continues..”

 

After the Legend’s death this is the first “Wilfy Nite” a Tribute to Wilfy of this kind in the Gulf… The organizers have promised this to be a special treat to the Konkani music Lovers.
