Moodubelle: Dynamic Duo organizes Family get-together and Christmas Celebration

Udupi/M’Belle, 16 Dec: Dynamic Duo, one of the four teams constituted during the Golden Jubilee celebration of the ICYM Unit of St. Lawrence Parish Moodubelle under the leadership of Joseph Martis organized a memorable family get-together along with Christmas celebration on Sunday, 15 December 2024 at the spacious premises of Santan and Severine Mathais with the cooperation their son Arun Mathias.

 

The programme commenced at 6.30 pm which was attended by Fr. George D’Souza-Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, Fr. Rickson Monteiro-Assistant Parish Priest, Pritish D’Sa-Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Charles Quadros Secretary, Valerian Noronha-Convener of the Youth Commission, Gurkars and Representatives and members of 6 Wards comprising of the Dynamic Duo-Edmer, Kattingeri, Kinnikambla, Guddbettu, Devaragudde and Thirlapalke. The entire gathering was live as many of the members wore the Dynamic Duo colours and Christmas caps. 

 

The programme was initiated by a brief prayer service led by Edward D’Souza-Gurkar of the Thirlapalke Ward. 

 

Following the welcome address by Joseph Martis, the dignitaries felicitated Santan, Severine and Arun Mathais for providing their premises for various cultural practices during the competitions organized by the ICYM and to organize the family get-together and Christmas celebration.  

 

Pritish D’Sa, Fr. Rickson Monteiro and Charles Quadeos in their messages congratulated Dynamic Duo for their excellent performance during all the competitive events and for securing the Runners-up Trophy for overall performance. They lauded the leadership quality of the team leader Joseph Martis who led the team with cool mind and high spirit. 

Cutting of the Christmas cake with the children by Fr. George D’Souza ushered in the Chrismas celebration.

 

The entry of the Santa Claus in between enthused and excited the children who danced laughed with Santa Claus who distributed chocolates to the children.

 

On this occasion, Joseph Martis and his wife Jacinta Martis were honoured for their service in the success of the Dynamic Duo. 

 

In his emotion filled address, Joseph Martis praised the support and contribution of the Gurkars, Representatives and members of all the 6 Wards and compared them to the foundation of a well designed and built structure. He also appreciated the participants in various events of competition and putting their efforts in winning. 

 

Fr. George D’Souza in his message said that it was not an individual or team that has won, but the entire parish scored the greatest victory by all parishioners coming together and manifesting their solidarity and unity. 

 

Joseph Martis showed his appreciation of the contribution of the Gurkars by honouring them on this occasion. 

 

Valerian Noronha, as the Convener of the Youth Commission expressed his happiness on the way how the ICYM organized the Golden Jubilee celebration and the whole hearted participation of the parishioners in various events. 

 

Reema Lobo share her experience, first as an observer and later as a participant in the events of the competition.   

 

Veera Fernandes said that such events should be held regularly in order to foster togetherness and unity of the parishioners. 

 

Joseph Martis redistributed the trophies and medals to individual members of various winning teams.  

 

Anita Alva proposed the vote of thanks and compered the programme. 

 

The function concluded with few entertainment programmes and dinner.
