Kannada Sangha Santacruz celebrates 67th anniversary and honors achievers

Mumbai, Mar. 29: "I am the honorary president of 2 Kannada Sanghas and I am engaged in the service of Mother Bhuvaneshwari. We are providing laptops, books and other necessary equipment to the students of Powai Municipality School from Powai Kannada Sangha. Children studying in Municipality School face a lot of difficulties. I have experienced it and I too studied in a Municipal School. Let us make it a habit to help financially helpless children in their education. Helping them in their education is a pious act", said Mahesh S. Shetty, Executive President of Baba’s Group and Vice President of Bunts Sangha Mumbai.

 

On Saturday, the Kannada Sangha Santacruz celebrated its 47th anniversary at the Sri Narayana Guru Auditorium in Billava Bhavan, Santacruz East. Mahesh Shetty was the chief guest and honored the achievers and spoke.

 

The function, presided over by the association’s president Sujatha R. Shetty, was graced by the guests of honour, including Billavar Association Mumbai President Harish G. Amin, Bunts Sangha Mumbai Powai Education Committee Executive President Ratnakar Shetty Mundkur, Jawab President Rajesh B. Shetty, renowned astrologer and architect Ashok Purohit. The function was presided over by the association’s president Sujatha R. Shetty, who was also the guest of honour. The association presented the annual meritorious awards, distributed the annual educational financial assistance fund to deserving students, and accepted the adoption of the students.

 

The guests felicitated and congratulated Dr. R.K. Shetty, Honorary General Secretary of Buntara Sangha Mumbai, who has been selected as the speaker of the MDRT Global Conference to be held in Macau, China, with the Global Sadhakaratna Award, Dr. Purnima S. Shetty, Associate Professor, Kannada Department, Mumbai University, Ms. Nikita N.T. Poojary (N.T. Poojary and Yashoda N.T. Poojary), Director of Sivasagar Foods and Resorts Private Limited, Harish G. Amin and Mamata H. Amin, who were re-elected as the Presidents of Billavar Association, and L.V. Amin and Sudha L. Amin (Honorary President of Kannada Sangha) who were elected as Honorary Presidents.

Sujatha Shetty, speaking as the president, said that when I became the president in 2021, Dr. R. K. Shetty was the one who supported me. I am eternally grateful to him. The cultural committee of the association organized a good cultural program today. Kannada Sangha Santa Cruz has been doing good work in the environment, and we are happy to provide scholarships and light to the future of children. The association has done the work of wiping the tears of the sick, and this is possible with the cooperation and cooperation of all the office bearers of the association and the help of generous donors. She expressed her hope that we will continue to move forward with a spirit of service.

 

The program was attended by the association’s vice president Bhujanga R. Shetty, general secretary Jaya V. Poojary, honorary treasurer Sudhakar Uchil, (Social and Cultural Committee Working President Vanitha Y. Nonda, secretary Lakshmi N. Kotian, (Education Sub-committee Working President Vijayakumar K. Poonja, and many members of the executive committee, well-wishers, and Kannada fans.

 

As part of the cultural program, the members of the association and children presented dance variety and various entertainment programs. Artists of Kodiadka Creations performed the Tulu play ’Kuseldha Ajji’ written by Rajesh Acharya Parkal and directed by Ashok Kumar Kodiadka. The cultural program was narrated by Lakshmi N. Kotian.

 

Lakshmi N. Kotian and the group offered prayers. Vanitha Y. Nonda welcomed. Jaya V. Poojary gave information about the association. Shakila P. Shetty read out the list of beneficiary students. Baba Prasad Urs, Vijaya Shetty read out the honor roll. Sumitra Devadiga, Sujatha Uchil, Babita Poojary, Shalini Shetty, Akshita Shetty introduced the guests. Chinmaya Salyan compered the program and proposed vote of thanks.
