Old Students’ Generous Contribution Enhances Digital Learning at National High School, Barkur

The High School section of National PU College, Barkur, witnessed a heart-warming gesture of generosity as its Old Students gifted 6 brand-new computer sets, 5 Monitors, one UPS and two Batteries, reaffirming their deep-rooted bond with their Alma Mater. A simple yet meaningful program was held in the College Computer Laboratory at 2:30 PM to mark this momentous occasion, in the august presence of Rotary Officials from Udupi.
Representing the donors, M/s. Brady Company, Bangalore, Mr Prakash Acharya, graced the event, while Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of the Barkur Educational Society, welcomed the guests and donors and extended his profound gratitude to the alumni for their remarkable act of kindness. He expressed his appreciation for their unwavering attachment, concern, and solidarity with the institution that shaped them.
On behalf of M/s Brady Company our old student of Batch 1998 Mr Prakash Acharya, serving here in Accounts & Finance, instrumental to channelize funds for these computers about Rs. 2.25 Lakhs and Rotary Udupi senior official Mr Gururaj Bhat deservedly honoured on this special occasion by draping traditional shawl, garlands, and memento etc and in his address Mr Acharya recalled his nostalgic years in NJC Campus and called the present students to utilise these facilities best way possible and take care of them.
Mrs. Hemavathy P.S. in her gratitude’s, shared her heartfelt joy, emphasizing how this generous contribution had fulfilled a vital requirement for her students—exceeding expectations and enriching their learning experience.
Among others, Mr. Archibald Furtado, Administrative Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, Mr Raj Gopal Nambiar, Member BES Governing body, teachers also were present. On behalf of Rotary Club Udupi, Mr Gururaj Bhat lauded the Old Students for their invaluable gesture. He acknowledged their commitment to giving back to their beloved school, stating that their donation through CSR Fund, was not just of computers but of hope and progress for the students.
Adding further significance to the occasion, Rotary Club Ramachandra Upadyay, who presided over the program, reassured the college of continued support and cooperation. He expressed delight that a long-pending requirement had finally been met, ensuring a brighter future for the students.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, marking an afternoon of gratitude, nostalgia, and renewed commitment to the institution’s progress.
