Muscat: Bellevision holds annual get together

Muscat, 02 February 2010: Bellevision Muscat organized an annual get together on Thursday, 28th January 2010 at Massarat Hall, CBD for all Belle Parishioners in Oman together with neighbouring parishioners from Kanajar, Pamboor and Kunthalnagar. 

Ms. Glenda Castelino and Dr. Judith Lobo were the MC for the evening. They  organised the event smoothly and also kept the mood of the crowd in spirit. Mr. Edward accompanied them during intervals.

The program commenced at sharp 9 p.m. with the welcome speech by the President,  Mr. Simon D’Souza.

And a prayer song presented by John Lobo, Florine, Lawrence and Janice Lobo. Josyl Lobo accompanied them on the keyboard.

Ms. Felcy Frank, the secretary presented the annual report and thanked all the members for their active participation and support.

She mentioned that the Mission of Bellevision Muscat is to cultivate a sense of brotherhood and unity within each one of us in the Belle community by establishing life long relationships with our fellow parishioners and with those of other parishioners, encouraging active involvement in the community activities, and eliciting financial support each year to aid in the realization of current and upcoming community priorities.

The Bellevision, Muscat was formed on 25th November 2003.  It has completed 6 successful years as an association and this year we have added new members from Kunthalnagar, Pamboor and Kanajar and it was a pleasure to have them among us and contribute towards growth of this association.

Every year the community organizes events on various occasions some of which are the Belle Parish feast, Easter party, picnic, annual day, farewell functions and frequent meetings to further strengthen the existing bond between our fellow parishioners and their families.

The talented & budding child artistes Vijeth D’Mello, Sylvita Sequiera, Nishitha Picardo, Roshwal Floyd D’Souza, Brian D’Souza and Afil gave a wonderful dance performance for a Kannada song which was choreographed by Glenda and Florine that was enjoyed by one and all and the crowd requested for once more and children enjoyed performing once again.

Simon, Edward, Lawrence, Ida and Lloyd entertained the crowd with some comedy skits and made everyone laugh.

This was followed by a thrilling dance performance by Priyanka Mendonca who is a star of Bellevision Muscat. She has taken part in many dance events organized by the Indian Social Club and Indian Embassy and won several awards.

Children Games such as passing the parcel, …. conducted by Florine and Philomena Mendonca and hilarious games for Adults like pregnant men with large belly and couple games -aiming grapes into partner’s mouth were conducted by Anil D’Mello.

Ms. Violet Lobo gave vote of thanks for everyone’s support and contribution and also specially thanked the Chairman Mr. Lawrence Alva for his generous support for the success of this association. All the artistes were commended for their achievement and wonderful performances.
Housie game was held. Prizes were distributed to all the winners.

The DJ’s Brain and Joel entertained the crowd with some catchy numbers and it had the highly enthusiastic crowd enjoying every bit of it. 

Ms. Senorita D’Souza led the crowd into prayer for the Grace before meals.

Food incharge Sylvester Alva, efficiently arranged Drinks, Snacks and Delicious food which included Dukra Mas, Sanna, Pulav, Butter chicken,  Gobi Manchirian, Veg, Nan, Salad, and  Ice cream.

Overall it was a well organized event and was enjoyed by both children and adults alike.
