Mumbai: Maharashtra NCC bags PM’s Banner for record 5th time

Mumbai, 8 Feb 2014: The Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan on Friday February 7 congratulated the Maharashtra Contingent of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for creating a history by winning the prestigious Prime Minister’s Banner for the fifth consecutive year at the Republic Day Camp held in New Delhi recently.
Maharashtra NCC was also adjudged the Champion Directorate from out of 17 NCC directorates in the country.
The Governor hosted a tea in honour of the victorious NCC cadets and officers at Raj Bhavan, here on Monday February 3.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor Sankaranarayanan said, ‘NCC is a symbol of national integration, secularism and patriotism.’
The Cadets presented a cultural programme on this occasion.
