Udupi: Patron’s Feast celebrated in devotion at St. Vincent De Paul Church Katapadi

Katapadi/Udupi, 29 Sep 2013: “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me”St. Vincent De Paul Church, Katapadi celebrated their patron’s feast after 40yrs on Friday27th September 2013 @10.30. St. Vincent De Paul has always been an example of humility and selflessness. He worked for the poor and the needy throughout his life.
The Eucharistic Mass was led by Fr. Fredrik Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi and Vicar of Udupi Deanery, and was co-celebrated by 11 other Priests belonging to Udupi and Shirva deanery.
Fr. Fredrik in homily asked the faithful not to stick to worldly matters but instead to take Patron as our idol and live a humble life as he did. He said that by living a humble life and helping the needy we can keep our faith lively. He also briefed on life of St. Vincent De Paul and called the faithful to inculcate at least few qualities of the patron in their life. He concluded the sermon saying that ‘He who loves the poor will meet death without fear.’
The mass was well attended by the faithful and it was assisted by a melodious Parish Choir. At the end of the mass snacks were distributed for all faithful who attend the celebrations.
