Mumbai: Women’s Day celebration in Gokul

Mumbai: As part of the Gokul centenary celebrations, Women’s Day was celebrated in a meaningful and unique way on 30.3.2025, the first day of Chaitra Navratri.
At exactly 9.30 am, about 100 women gathered under the leadership of Vedamuthi Sri Subrahmanya Karanth, who came from Udupi.
First, they performed the kumkum flower puja with the eight-fold chanting of Maha Saraswati, and then they performed the puja of Maha Kali as Maha Lakshmi.
Using new technologies, a mass Kumkumarchana program was conducted by using Bhajans in the priesthood and getting everyone involved in the program. The three-hour program was hosted by the sponsors Mohan Raj and Savitri Mohan Raj. Dr. Sahana Pothi introduced Vedamurthy Subrahmanya Karanth.
The meeting program was held at exactly 2 pm. On the stage were President Dr.|| Suresh Rao, Gov. Secretary A.P.K. Pothi, Treasurer Haridan Bhat, Joint Secretaries Mohan Raj and Chitra Melmane, Women’s Section President Dr. II Sahana Puthi, Dr.|| V.B. Aarthi who came from Bangalore as a guest lecturer, proud members of Gokul Sanstha Shailini Rao, Geeta L. Bhat, and Smt. Savitri Mohan Raj. On this occasion, Shailini Rao, Geeta L. Bhat and Savitri Mohan Raj and Dr. V.B. Aarthi were honored by the President and office bearers.
Anita Acharya conducted the assembly program. Vinodini Rao, Smita Bhat, Anjana Rao and Bharathi Udupa read out the introduction letters of the honorees. Dr. Sahana Pothi proposed the vote of thanks.
Then Dr. V.B. Aarti gave an excellent lecture on the path taken by Indian women, leaving everyone spellbound.
Later, in the Nada Nritya Vaikuntha Yakshagana Nritya- Vaibhav cultural program, artists from Udupi and Mumbai, such as Shalini Hebbar, Sinchana Mudukodi, Vandana Malenki, Samarth Udupa, Advait Kanyana, and Smt. Vinaya Anantha Krishna, Tanvi Rao, Supriya Udupa, Kriti Chadaga, Janhavi Pothi, Pratiksha Bhatt, and Trisha Bhatt participated in the dance at the Mumela.
After 6.30 pm, all the seniors and juniors participated in group games organized by the women’s section, enjoyed a lovely meal, and celebrated the first day of the new year together from morning till night like a Vasudeva family.
