Manipal: Diploma students stir to demand carry over system

Print Manipal, 25 Jul 2012: The diploma students from all over district staged stir demanding reintroduction of carry over system in diploma courses, before DC Office on Wednesday.
Forwarding the memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Dr M T Reju, the student agitators said that the governments’ new rule is against the interest of the students.
They alleged many appeals to the government regarding reintroduction of the carry over system, have failed to yield any results. They threatened to go for rigorous protest if government fails to withdraw the new rule.
The rule states that students failing in eight subjects continuously for two semesters will not be given admission to the next semester. One entire year will be lost owing to the new rule.
Students demanded that government should continue with the old pattern that follows carry over system.
