Mangalore, 09 Jul 2012: Addressing the protest rally organized by Save Jammu Kashmir Struggle Committee, Mangalore in front of the District Collector’s office in Mangalore on Monday July 19, 2012, the BJP MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the report prepared by three interlocutors appointed by the UPA Government October 13, 2010 to resolve the thorny issues of Jammu and Kashmir-Prof. Radha Kumar, Dilip Padagaonkar and M M Ansari has strengthened the hands of the separatists.
He said that in the report submitted by them to the government they have recommended the continuance of the autonomous character of the Jammu and Kashmir conferred on its by Article 370 of the Indian Constitution which was originally meant a temporary concession. Accusing the UPA government, Kateel said that the Congress party has lost its determination to save Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India.
Continuing further his anger against the government, Nalin Kumar Kateel said that by such a policy, the hands of the terrorists are strengthened. He argued that such a policy has been followed by the Congress to garner the minority votes. He condemned the report of the Interlocutors saying that their report, if implemented would separate Jammu and Kashmir from India.
Other speakers such as Sharan Pumpwell, Sudhakar Joshi and Advocate Suvritha Kumar flayed the report of the Interlocutors and the policy of the Congress party and the central government towards Jammu and Kashmir.
