Mangaluru: Ashok Amblamogaru, who performed in various theatre groups including Kalasangama and Mangala Kalasanther and was the star of the Oriyar Dori Asal Nataka cinema, passed away a few months ago. Realizing that his family lived in extreme poverty, Aikala Harish Shetty, president of the Global Bunt Associations, has provided financial assistance from the federation.

 

Ashok Shetty was in the Kalasangama troupe of Amblamogaru Vijayakumar Kodial Bail. Later, he formed his own Mangala Arthaanler drama troupe and composed and performed the play Katteda Gulige. In the early days, he appeared in the drama troupe of Sudhir Raj Urva.

 

He had acted in many films along with drama. Before his death, he was shooting for twenty days in a leading role with Vijaya Raghavendra. A few days later, he died of a heart attack. He had composed many dramas and Yakshagana episodes. Like the drama Masanada Poo and Kalachakra that he composed, his life also became embedded in the Kalachakra like a flower of Masana.

 

Ashok Shetty Amblamogaru has two children. They are studying. His wife and two children are living in extreme poverty at home, and the family is orphaned without any working hands. The house is like a cowshed.

Upon learning of this, Aikala Harish Shetty, president of the Global Bunt Associations Federation, sent a team of the federation to Amblamogaru in Ullal to study the situation at the house. Former treasurer of the federation, Kolladi Balakrishna Rai, treasurer of Salettur Bunt Association, Amaresh Shetty, and others visited Ashok’s house and submitted a report to the federation. Immediately after the federation’s president, Aikala Harish Shetty, announced that he would immediately provide financial assistance and make separate arrangements for the family to live.

 

Aikala Harish Shetty said that the artist’s family, who are in dire straits, need to build a house to live in. In this regard, donors, organizations and well-wishers need to provide assistance.
