State Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi visits the Polali-Addur bridge

Bantwal: State Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi visited the Polali-Addur bridge, which is under repair, on Tuesday, inspected the work and received information from the departmental engineers.


Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadiguttu was present on the occasion and appealed to the public to complete the work quickly and facilitate the devotees visiting the area in view of the annual fair that will be held for a month after the Shatachandika Yaga next month in the historically famous Polali constituency.

 

Responding to this, the minister instructed the officials to take necessary action in this regard.

 

Engineers brought to the attention of the minister that in order to increase the capacity of the bridge, the bridge would need to be lifted using a machine and bearings would need to be installed at its base, which would take ten to fifteen days.

In the backdrop of the Polali constituency program, Minister Satish Jarkiholi instructed the engineer to immediately stop all vehicle traffic on the bridge and complete the work of installing bearings on a priority basis, then facilitate the movement of light vehicles and complete all the work before the constituency fair.

 

At the KDP meeting held on Monday, MLA Rajesh Naik drew the attention of the district in-charge minister to this matter and requested the Public Works Department Minister, who is on a district tour, to inspect the Polali-Addur bridge work.

 

During the minister’s visit, former minister Ramanath Rai, former Kariyam Gram Panchayat President Chandrahas Pallipadi, former T.P. member Venkatesh Nawada, Congress leader Rakshit Shivaram,

 

Chief Engineers B.V. Gokul Das, Karya Palaka Engineer Amarnath Jain. AEEs Jai Prakash, Pritam, Arun Prakash, Dilip Das Prakash, Hemanth were present.

 

Later, Minister Satish Jarkiholi visited the traffic census center conducted by the Public Works Department in Kallagudde and inspected it.

Request for grant:

A grant of Rs. 2 crore has been sanctioned from the CRF fund for the development of a 3.3 km road on the B.C. Road - Polali Road and the foundation stone has already been laid. Similarly, a request has been made to take action to invite the pending tender for the road development work worth Rs. 4 crore under the Appendix project of the PWD Department, and the minister, responding to this, has directed the officials to immediately invite the tender.

 

MLA Rajesh Naik Ulipadi told reporters that a request has been made to Minister Satish Jarkiholi to provide additional funding for the remaining road works to fully develop this road.
