Manipal: H1N1 patient dies in K.M.C. Hospital

Manipal, 10 July 2011: A H1N1 patient in K.M.C. Hospital Manipal has died on Saturday. With this the total number of deaths due to H1N1 in Manipal hospital in this year has raised to 5 persons. The patient who died on Saturday is Asha (28) of Sagar Taluk, Shivamoga. She had her delivery just 16 days back. She was admitted to Manipal Hospital in the 1st week of June due to fever and later it was known that she had H1N1. She was given treatment in the special H1N1 department, but the infection had already crossed the danger level. Her newly born child is healthy, said the Officers of the hospital.
Before this in this year total 4 patients including one from Udupi District have died with H1N1. Total 9 H1N1 patients were admitted in the special H1N1 department. Out of them 5 were cured and returned home. Among them one is from Udupi District and the rest are from other districts.
