Mangaluru: Bajjody parishioners celebrate Amchem Kutma Fest

Mangaluru, 14 Sep 2015: The parishioners of Infant Mary parish, Bajjody celebrated ‘Amchem Kutma Fest,’ to show their oneness on Sunday September 13. It has been a custom of Bajjody parish to come together as a parish family to celebrate their oneness on the following Sunday after Monti Fest. This year too, the Bajjody parishioners witnessed a great day of unit.
The visionary of Bajjody church – Fr Melvyn D’Cunha concelebrated the Eucharistic Celebration along with Bajjody parish priest Fr Shabas Crasta, assistant parish priest Fr Jossy D’Souza, Carmel Hill – St Joseph’s Monastery vice rector Fr Barnabas Monis, Fr Deep Fernandes, Infant Jesus Shrine director Fr Elias D’Souza, Fr Roshan, Fr Rohan and Fr Vinod concelebrated the Holy Mass here on Sunday at 8.30am.
Fr Richard Saldanha who is serving in Mysore, delivered the homily.
Fr Richard in his homily said, ‘Remember, if you have a family, you are rich enough in this world.’ He also exhorted the families to live in the light of the scriptures.
The stage programme was held at the parish hall after the Mass. The mayor Jacinta Alfred was the chief guest of the occasion.
The parishioners of different wards presented variety cultural shows as part of entertainment programme. The fellowship meal was shared by parish family including neighboring Hindu brethrens to foster brotherhood.
Fr Deep blessed the new paddy sheaves and prayed for graces before the meal. Fr Jossy proposed vote of thanks. Awin and Jennifer compered the programme.
