Dubai: Karaval Milan celebrates Monti Fest

Dubai, 23 Sep 2015: Karaval Milan, Dubai celebrated the traditional ‘Monti Feast’ also known as The Feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary at Quick Bite, Restaurant in Deira, here on September 12.

 

Fr Robert Lasrado, the spiritual director of Konkani community, St Mary’s Church, here graced the celebration as a special guest.

 

 

Addressing the gathering, Fr Lasrado appreciated the unity among Karaval Milan members as people from various parishes working together.

 

Children entered the hall in a procession to offer the flowers to Mother Mary. Then gathering sang traditional Konkani hymns: ‘Sokkod Sangata Mellyan’ and ’Moriyek Hogollsiyan’, children showered the flowers to Mother Mary.

 

Eric D’Souza, Ronnie Byndoor, Gretta D’Souza, Shiny D’Souza and Goldina entertained the gathering with melodious Konkani songs. Wilson D’Sa conducted various games of children and adults. Prices were distributed to the winners.

 

The programme started with a warm welcome by president Naveen D’Souza and compered by James Pius.
