Mangaluru: Monti Fest celebrated with utmost devotion in parishes across diocese

Mangaluru, 08 Sep 2015: The feast of Nativity of Mary (Monti Fest) was celebrated in different parishes across Mangaluru diocese on Tuesday September 8 morning.

 

Nine-day novenas in honor of Infant Mary were held with showering of flowers by the little children, in preparation for festal celebration on Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The parish priests blessed the new paddy sheaves that were distributed to the congregation after the festal Eucharistic Celebrations.

 

The family members working in different locations returned to their homes to partake in the fellowship meal at their ancestral homes to foster unity and brotherhood.

 

The special prayers were offered for the abundance of rains that has become intermittent since a few weeks in coastal district and for good crop.
