International Yoga Day Celebrated at St Philomena College

Puttu, 24 Jun 2015: International Yoga Day was celebrated in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi saw the reflection throughout the country. Taking the queue, St Philomena College here organized a mammoth gathering of yoga participants at the College ground here on Sunday June 21.
NCC cadets from Army, Navy and Air force of NMC Sullia, Ramachandra College, Perne, Government PU College, here, St Philomena High School and St Philomena College, numbering around 650 participated in the yoga.
Fr Alfred J Pinto, correspondent of Mai De Deus Institutions inaugurated the programme and said, ‘Body and mind synchronized with nature. Therefore sound mind makes a sound body and yoga will help to achieve this stage.’
Lt Col Ranjith Charco, Chief NCC officer called upon the NCC cadets never to look back after starting the work and also pointedly said that yoga should be performed until breaking time without any interruption.
The participants performed yoga on Sunday from 7.00am to 7.35am.

Professor, Postgraduate Department of Commerce, B K Madhava, Youth and Sports Officer of Puttur taluk, NCC Officers Clement Pinto, Roshan Sequeira, Naresh Lobo, Gregory Pais from Kombettu, Sudhakara from Perne, Kuladeep from Sullia, Mahesh Rai, 19 Karnataka Battalion P I staff, Fr Maxim D’Souza, Warden of St Philomena High School Boys’ Hostel, Ramanath Rai, Secretary of Ex Service men Association and the members of Ex Service men Association were present.
Rajashekar, teacher of St Philomena High School compered the programme.
