Mumbai: Ryan International Schools across country observe International Yoga Day
Media Release
Mumbai, 21 Jun 2016: This Tuesday, on June 21, the whole world geared up to celebrate the International Yoga Day. June 21 is declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014. This came as a consequence of our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal made during his address to the United Nations General Assembly on September 27, 2014.
At Ryan International Schools, all across the country, the day was marked with great enthusiasm. This resonates very much with the vision of Dr A F Pinto, chairman, Ryan International Group of Institutions, who emphasizes strongly on proper physical development of children. The students actively participated in the events organized in their respective schools. Over 200,000 students took part in the special programs held with the support of local organizations to showcase Yoga. Several Yoga experts guided our students during these sessions, demonstrating the importance of correct postures. Various asanas such as Tadasana (Palm tree position), Padmasana (Lotus Position), Shavasan, Sukhasana, were demonstrated. They also gave some lec-dems about the benefits of yoga and the various aspects of practicing yoga. The students were motivated to make yoga an indispensable part of their lives, for it is beneficial not only for their physical fitness but also for mental wellbeing.
Through the celebration of the International Yoga Day, Ryan Group aims at creating awareness among the students to open up their minds to inherit and acquire good practices that our tradition has gifted us with.
