Truck collides with Inter-city passenger bus at Yellapura, Driver dies, many critical

Mumbai, 23 Jun 2015: An inter-city luxury passenger bus plying from Mangaluru to Mumbai was hit by an oncoming truck on national highway at Yellapura, Uttara Karnataka at about 10.00 pm on Monday June 22.
As a result, the bus driver belonging to Anand Travels identified as Mahabala Poojary died instantly, while the relief driver, cleaner and other passengers were critically injured and are admitted in the local hospital.
The bus began its journey from Mangaluru on Monday afternoon and reached Yellapura, where a truck was negotiating a huge tree uprooted on the middle of the road and rammed the oncoming bus.
The owner of Anand Travels and staff rushed to the spot and arranged bus to bring stranded passengers to Mumbai.
Yellapura police registered a case and investigations are under way.
The deceased driver Mahabala was an efficient and careful driver, but the fate has taken away his life.
