Mangalore: World Breast Feeding Week begins at Father Muller Hospital

Mangalore, 8 Aug 2014: The union ministry of women and child development, community food and nutrition extension unit of Mangalore and Father Muller Medical College, Kankanady, here organized the inauguration of World Breast Feeding Week – 2014, and state level symposium at Knowledge Centre, Father Muller Charitable Institution complex, here on Friday August 8.  The theme is Breast feeding: A winning goal.
 
Dakshina Kannada district health and family welfare officer Dr Rukmini inaugurated the programme here on Friday morning.
 
Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues presided the programme.
 
Father Muller Medical College dean Dr Jayaprakash Alva was present at the dais.

 

 
Technical session is held by Father Muller Medical College Professor of paediatrics Dr Shreedhra Avabrathak, paediatrician Dr Mario Bukelo, head of department of paediatrics Dr Pavan Hegde, Father Muller Nursing College Professor Seema Chauhan and chief of medical services Dr Sanjeev Rai.
 
The staff nurses of Father Muller Medical College Hospital, the programme officer, child development officer and assistant child development officer and supervisor were present on the occasion.
 
Fr Patrick welcomed the gathering.  Food and Nutrition Board demonstration officer Shiv Darshan Tripati proposed vote of thanks.
