Fish Curry (Ambot Tik)

Ingrediants:
- Any fish
- Red chilly - 7
- Coconut - 1 cup
- Onion - 1+1
- Garlic - 2 pcs big
- Tamarind
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 + 1/2 tea sp.
- Coriander seeds - 2 tea sp.
- Cumin - 3/4 tea sp.
- Mustard - 1/2 tea sp.
- Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) - 1/4 tea sp.
- Vovo - 1/4 tea sp.
- Green chilly - 3
- Ginger - small piece
- Oil - 2 table sp.
- Vinegar - 2 table sp.
- Salt to taste
- (Tomato - 1 medium)
Description:
Clean and cut fish. Add salt, 1/2 tea sp. turmeric powder and vinegar. Mix it and keep at side.
* Fry Fenugreek seeds (methi) and vovo. To grind: Coconut, red chilly, garlic, 1 onion, 1/2 tea sp. turmeric powder, tamarind, coriander, cumin, mustard, fried Fenugreek seeds (methi) and vovo.
* Heat oil in a vessel. Add chopped onion and fry for 5 3-4 minutes. Cut green chilies length wise and add to this oil and fry. Add ginger.
* Add ground masala to this mixture and fry for 1-2 minutes. Now add enough water to this and bring it to boil.
* When it starts to boil well put fish pieces and adjust salt and sour contents and keep in a low flame for 10-15 minutes. Now take out from the gas and serve hot with rice.
Note: Except for sardines (tharle), tomato can be used in the place of green chilly and ginger.
