Going by the good pics, brief naarative and ameatuer vedios, I would opt the Leyden Houseboat for a family holiday. Good and ample deck space for great barbecue and sipping chilled beer!

Excellent article Philip. We often see these kind of behaviour at home with our own children and in our neighborhood.Generally we see younger siblings are a kind of spoiled. Is there any relationship to that.

According to trial testimony, on the evening of August 19, 2016, Arjun was observed by an eyewitness leaving her apartment in Queens along with her ex-husband Raymond Narayan, and her two grandchildren ages 3 and 5. When asked about the nine-year-old victim’s whereabouts, Arjun informed the eyewitness that the child was in the bathroom and was waiting for her father to pick her up
I noted the above quote from media report. I have serious concerns, she was going out with her ex husband with small kids and another child is also under her care (whom she killed according to court verdict), How many ex husbands she has and was the victim child was handed to her care by honourable court?. If some one have so many ex which means to me a mental health issue. No sane human human ever kill any other human, let alone a defenceless child. I am glad the jury gave a great verdict (I too was jury twice in a western court), In my opinion, this criminal should get not 25 years but 250 years. This should send message to all people who are inhuman and cruel, go to the extent of killing a defenceless child. Every life is valuable, no matter if comes from any part of geography or from any relation.

Dear Sir
Welcome back. I regularly read your articles (so as Bellevision and Daijiworld. Sorry to hear ordeal went through and with your determination you made an excellent recovery. I wish the readers take inspiring lessons from your life experience article. It is well known, illness such as hypertension, diabetes (DM), ischemic heart disease (IHD) and consequences of these, particularly more common in Indians who have genetic susceptibility in comparison to Caucasian (western) population. Moreover, economic prosperity which comes with sedentary life style (lack of physical activity) and lack of knowledge on diet etc puts us at even higher risk. Also the above mentioned illnesses will not give symptoms until late. There is generic lack of awareness and preventive measures on above health issues. Also there is no robust call/recall system like in west where every resident gets repeatedly invited to go through screening for diabetes, lipid profile and BP screening, which may be difficult implement in a country like India due to massive population, lack of uniformed evidence based medical practice etc. I wish to emphasize all readers to take message from your article to be health conscious, healthy diet and adequate physical activity. Just a note for readers, in general men are at risk of IHD, DM etc as early as age 35 onwards and women are generally have protective effect until they attain menopause, which is around 50s. This general rule is not applicable if a particular family has genetic predisposition such as hyperlipidemia. Stay healthy.

Appreciate kind gesture of Philip highlighting the situation of academically good student and low economic background. Hope her dream of being Doctor will be a reality. If her bank details and address is published, like minded people can support her education so that she will help others in future. When it had funds Bellevision had supported several dozen such students in the past though not for full term medical, certainly for nursing, engineering, pre-university and the basic levels of education.

Financial setbacks can hinder college dreams / higher studies at times. However, in the long run, a professional degree can more than pay for itself through increased earnings potential. So it is important to overcome the challenges and continue education and achieve the life goal. I am sure academically brilliant students like Kumpala Selen Preethi Pinto, you re not alone there are many kind-hearted people you can turn to for help.
Dear Philip Mudartha s write-up on Bellevision, who took initiative by highlighting your fabulous results/marks and extraordinary talents, that too coming from a financially poor background will only add up for the kind-hearted ones to extend their helping hand through his charitable education trust for sure.

Good analysis. I do not mind Modi back at central again. Asking votes in the name of Modi for non performing candidates in coastal that too for a second term is absolutely pointless since Modi is not going to attend our local needs. BJP should have placed capable faces like JP Hegde and Brijesh Chowta for the development of coastal region!
