Udupi: ‘Namma Angadi’ an initiative by Namma Bhoomi

Udupi, 31 October 2010: ‘Namma Angadi’ an initiative by Namma Bhoomi a regional training centre based in Bangalore is inaugurated by Dr. M. V. Kamath Honaray Director of Manipal Institute of Commerce, at the Board High School Udupi. Upon inauguration he said that only the production of the products is not just enough, the marketing of the same is an greater challenge.
The rural eco friendly products manufactured by skilled craftsmen does not get enough encouragement and market due to the plastic and ready made products which are available in the market. To preserve and support this Namma Bhoomi has organized this exhibition and sale.
This exhibition is on going since Friday and will continue for 3 days. On the first day itself there was huge crowd. In the exhibition various clay utensils drew attention of people. Also available in the exhibition are, men’s kurtha, children’s toys, sari’s for women, traditionasl foot wear, ethnic jewellery, wooden furniture, painting, food items and so on.
