Milagres College Commerce Dept. organizes Career Guidance Orientation Programme

Udupi: The Department of Commerce, in collaboration with the Career Guidance and Placement Cell, organized an orientation program on April 08, 2025. Mrs. Arpana Bhat, Lead Institutional Partnerships at Mentors for Kids Foundation (MKF), Bangalore, served as the resource person, delivering a session on "Empowering Commerce and Finance Students for the Future."
The program commenced with a welcome address by Poonam N Poojary, a final-year (link unavailable) student. Mrs. Bhat then took over, emphasizing the importance of employability skills in job interviews and bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. She highlighted essential technical and soft skills required to succeed in job interviews and introduced the benefits of partnering with Mentors for Kids Foundation, a non-profit organization.
Mrs. Bhat also informed students about the Learning Management System (LMS) courses, live sessions, and workshops offered by MKF at no cost. She encouraged BCA students to explore career opportunities in commerce and finance through certificate courses provided by MKF and announced a three-month internship program for students. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the Q&A segment.
The program was attended by esteemed faculty members, including Mrs. Sophia Dias, Vice Principal; Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, Staff Secretary; Mr. Ganesh Nayak, Placement Officer; Mrs. Radhika Patkar, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce; and Mr. Ravinandan Bhat, Public Relations Officer. The event provided valuable insights and opportunities for students to enhance their skills and career prospects.
