Abbanadka Friends Club organizes Kesardonji Dina to lure youth back to farming

Karkala, 30 Jun 2022: The state and district award winning Durgaparameshwari Friends Club, Abbanadka – Nandalike, near here organized Kesardonji Dina to mark their 22nd anniversary celebration at Beranagudde paddy field located at Kudundoor, Nandalike, near here recently.
Rashmi Charitable Trust chairman D R Raju inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Raju said that the traditional farming would sustain the Tulunadu culture.
The event was inaugurated in a unique way by offering milk to Mother Earth.
The races of buffaloes’ that is the traditional Kambala, were held ahead of the event, which is a daylong traditional game in the silted paddy field.
The Club president Prashant Poojary presided the programme.
Chatrapati Foundation chairman Girish Rao, Fisheries Board director Geetanjali Suvarna, Narayana Guru Co-op Bank director Prabhakar Bangera, entrepreneur Uday Kumar Hegde Yerlapady, Sanjeevi Shetty Beranagudde, Bhakti Shetty, Tukaram Shetty were the chief guests present.
The event director Rajesh Kotian, development committee president Dinesh Poojary Beerottu, Ganeshotsav committee president Raghuveer Shetty, former president Uday Anchan, women organizing secretary Sandhya Shetty were present at the dais.
Padmasri Poojary rendered the prayers. The secretary Suresh Kasrabail proposed vote of thanks. The Club convener Abbanadka Sandeep V Poojary compered the programme.
International powerlifter Bola Akshata Poojary and Indian armed forces personnel Sairaj Shetty were honored on the same occasion.
Various traditional games of Tulunadu were held for each category/age groups of men and women. The prizes were distributed to the winners.
