​Udupi: Couple commits suicide in Kota

 

Kota, 13 Jun 2015: A 27-year-old man with his minor partner committed suicide by hanging themselves from a tree in an isolated place in Kajrali here on Friday, June 12.

 

The couple identified as Diwakar Naik, from Kajrali and Chaitra (16) from Barali were missing since three days and were found dead on Friday.

 

It is said that the girl was in relationship with Diwakar who worked as an auto driver. She was pursuing her PU education at Albady and was residing at her aunts house in Aardi. After she went missing the family members filed a case at the nearest police station. Within a day Diwakar too went missing.

 

On Friday, after Diwakar’s friends saw him driving an omnee near Kota, they immediately set an hunt for the duo. At around 4:30 in the evening the family members found the car near the forest and a little further they found the couple dead.

 

According to sources, Diwakar was seen roaming with the minor in Udupi few weeks ago and was warned by locals to maintain a distance from Chaitra. People suspected that well natured Diwakar must have taken this extreme step owing to the opposition raised by the public towards their relationship.

 

Brahmavar police have registered a case.
