July 26 last date for Manipal Arogya Card

Mangalore, 18 July 2010: Manipal Arogya Card has successfully completed one decade of its service to the community. During the scheme in 2009, the cards were used 1,35,000 times by the members at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, KMC Hospitals, Mangalore, Dr T M A Pai Hospital, Udupi and Dr T MA Pai Hospital Karkala.
Approximately Rs 2.80 crores concession was given in 2009, said KMC Hospital COO Dr Mahesh Inder. Addressing a press meet, he said by paying a small amount, anybody can become a member and can avail the facilities. Those interested can become members between June 2 and July 26. KMC Hospital Mangalore alone has sold over 6,000 cards and has covered over 9,500 people in the last one month.”
“Free consultations with any specialist / super specialist doctor any number of times during the year is the most attractive part of the scheme for out-patients. There is a 20 per cent discount on diagnostics and laboratory investigations,” he added. There is a 10 per cent rebate on medicines purchased from the hospital pharmacy with prescriptions. KMC Associate Dean Dr M V Prabhu said that the scheme has grown to be a 1 lakh + member scheme in 10 years.
Applications for the scheme are available at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle and Attavar, Mangalore, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Dr T M A Pai Hospital, Udupi and Karkala and at all Syndicate Bank branches. A help desk has been set-up at each participating hospital to provide more information about the Manipal Arogya Card Scheme. A helpline— 94482 54700 has also been set-up to provide more information about the scheme.

This Manipal Arogya Card is very useful. The discounts we get on the charges of consultacy and medicines is some kind of relief. |
