Karkal: Knowledge thrives with God’s love – Fr Lawrence

Karkal, 31 May 2014: Rotary Club International (RCI) play key role in educational empowerment of rural students.  The divine service lies in serving the poor and downtrodden.  The schools are worship centers.  The students develop better personality when they are inspired by Holy Scriptures, respect the elderly and teachers, love their fellowmen during childhood.  The loving God is beginning of knowledge, said Fr Lawrence D’Souza, correspondent of St Joseph’s education institutions, Belman, near here.

 

Fr Lawrence was speaking during reopening of school programme sponsored by RCI – Belman, held at St Joseph’s Higher Primary School.  The textbooks that were provided by education department were distributed to the students.

 

Rotary community service director and alumnus Alwyn Neri Pinto, RCI – Belman member Rajesh Acharya were present at the dais.

 

 

RCI – Belman president Suryakant Shetty welcomed the gathering.  The teacher Pundalika Marate inspired the students during the first day at school. The school head teacher Sr Monica honored the dignitaries with the flower bouquet. The teacher Vincent Pinto compered the prayers.

 

The students presented universal prayers.  All the students were served with sweets, mid-day meals with sweet dish.
