Udupi: Brahmavar taluk Horata Samiti stages Vidhan Souda Chalo in Bangalore

Udupi, 23 July : Brahmavar taluk Horata Samiti staged Vidhan Souda Chalo agitation at Bangalore on July 18, urging the state administration to award full-pledged status to Brahmavar that was earlier announced by the former regime.
Addressing the protesters, BJP state president Prahlad Joshi said that the BJP-led state administration led by former CM Jagdish Shettar had announced taluk status to Brahmavar that was withdrawn by the Congress-led state government on the first day of its functioning that has caused injustice to the residents of coastal district, said Joshi.
The hundreds of coastal residents hailing from across Brahmavar and are settled in Bangalore participated in the agitation that was led by Satish Poojary barkoor.
The former minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLA M Kumaraswamy and other leaders also supported the agitation.
Brahmavar taluk Horata Samiti president Koti Poojary, Raviraj Shetty, Stree Shakti self-help-groups members, panchayat members and students were present at the occasion.
The protesters presented a memorandum to Governor Bharadwaj, CM Siddaramaiah and revenue minister after the protest.
