Udupi, 10 Jun 2013: The district unit of Welfare Party of India condemned the surprise strike staged by city bus owners and drivers Union here on Monday June 10 morning.
WFI alleged the flash strike of the city bus owners and drivers Union is unjustified as the latter held a stir on Sunday June 9, when the general public beaten a driver of city bus for reckless driving and presented a memorandum to City Police Commissioner. The indefinite strike of city bus owners and drivers Union caused inconvenience to regular commuters, alleged WFI.
WFI urged the state authorities to begin state-run bus services to regulate overtures of city bus drivers, as stated in the media release issued by WFI district president U Anwar Ali Kaup.
