Shirva, 06 November 2011: A young woman killed herself in Thottalugiri, Shirva on Friday night. The deceased is Shantha (30) daughter of Nigamma. She was suffering from hand and leg joint pains and disgusted with this she hanged herself to the kitchen roof rafter on Friday night and killed herself. As per the complaint given by Ningamma the case has been registered in the Shirva Police station.
Udupi, 06 November 2011: These days, using the fake police dress, robbing of single women is taking place frequently, so women should be careful and cooperate with the police department, requested Police Superintendent Dr. Ravikumar. Women should not go to lonely places alone, if necessary better to have someone along with them, he said.
While going out women should wear the minimum possible gold jewellery. When any incident of snatching of gold jewellery take place immediately the nearest police station or the control room number 100 should be called. When any vehicle is involved in such robbery, should try to note the vehicle type, its colour and the vehicle registration number, he appealed.
In the city already 4 cases of chain robberies in fake police uniform has taken place. As per the details given by those who lost jewellery, the faces of the accused are different, so may be 5 – 6 persons team is conducting this, he suspected.
The enquiry is completed on the recent suicidal death of the sports woman Prathvi of Brahmavara. But since the reports from the experts is yet to come, so the enquiry report could not be produced. Soon this case will be resolved, he assured.
Malpe, 06 November 2011: Karavali Securiy Squad Police have taken into possession of 1.65 rupees worth Charas and also have arrested a person by name Santhosh, who is the resident of Hassan and was trying to sell Charas in the beach. Receiving confirmed news on this the police were waiting for him at the beach. Irfan of Athradi Udupi Taluk, Sukumar of Karkala and Pramod had come there to make a deal with Santhosh.
Following this team the Security Squad Police went up to Manipal and succeeded in arresting Santhosh. But the other three who came to make the deal have escaped. The 1 kg Charas from Santhosh has been taken in to possession by the police. Also his car and the auto rickshaw used by the others has been taken into possession. The case has been registered in Malpe Police Station.
