New Delhi/Bangalore, 13 July 2011: Contrary to apprehensions that the commercial operations of Namma Metro’s on Reach-1 is unlikely to begin anytime soon, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday said the State is looking at September 1 for the same.

Yeddyurappa, exuding confidence that the project would soon obtain the necessary clearances, said the government will try to launch the operations before Ganesh Chaturthi, September 1.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited has been maintaining that its priority is to secure the required certificates and that the decision on the deadline will be taken by other “stakeholders”, including the Centre and the State government.
