Kundapura: Illigal transportation of animals
On receiving tips Sub Inspector Johnson D’Souza Kundapur Police Station along with his police force started the operation on Thursday night around 11 pm and stopped the vehicle at Nempu junction which was moving from Nelarakatte towards Hemmadi. The three people who were transporting these animals managed to escape in dark night. There were three bullocks and one cow which was in the vehicle with the legs tied was taken into the custody. It is estimated that the value of these animals is Rs. 4,500 and case has been registered in Kundapur Police Station.
Hiriadka : Gold and money stolen during night
A case has been registered in Hiriadka police station regarding theft which took place at the residence of Damodhar Nayak. It is said that the thieves entered the house by breaking the lock of main door during midnight when everyone fell asleep and opened the cupboard, took away gold chain, two silver utensils and cash. Total value of the stolen items and cash is approximately Rs.20,500.
Gangolli: A suicide case has been registered
Narayana Naik (80) resident of Bobbarya katte committed suicide due to frustration in life in Hakladi village. He was unable to work due to the injury to his hand which happened four years ago. His wife Sita also a heart patient and spending money for treatment. Due to the poverty the living become very difficult for him. On Thurday night he jumped in to a nearby well and lost his life. The case has been registered in Gangolli Police Station as per the complaint given by the local resident Abhishek Navunda regarding unnatural death.
