Udupi: Heavy wind and rain is forecasted in Udupi in the next 24 hours, so the weather department has warned the public to be careful. There is possibilities for 75 mm rain in the district and along with it wind will be of 45 – 50 km speed. Therefore the people, especially those who are in the sea shore are to be careful. Fishermen should not go for fishing, it was informed.
On Wednesday there was good rain in the whole district. There was no rain in the day time, but suddenly appeared in the evening. From 5.00 pm until 7.00 pm continuously heavy rain came. In the district average 53.26 mm rain is recorded. In Udupi Taluk 42.80 mm, Kundapura Taluk 67.80 mm, Karkala Taluk 53.26 mm rain has come.
Udupi: A youth died by drowning on Wednesday evening in the river near Indrali railway station. The deceased youth Roshan Fernandes (21) is originally a resident of Kaup. He is S.S.L.C. passed and was working a a driver, was staying in Indrali in a rented room with friends. In the evening along with his 5 friends went for swimming to Suvarna River of Golikatte, Parkala. While swimming Roshan got drowned and disappeared. Eventhough his friends searched for him until 7.00 pm, his body could not be found. The case is registered in Manipal Police Station.
Byndoor: In Tharapathi, Paduvari Grama a person died by electric shock. The deceased Ramachandra Mogaveera (65) had gone for fishing on Wednesday morning at Paduvari river shore, while walking he did not observe the electric wire which was passing low, it touched his neck and with the electric shock he died on the spot. His brother Anantha Mogaveera who was with him pulled the wire away and he also was injured with the electric shock. As per the complaint given by Anantha Mogaveera the case of unnatural death is registered in Baindur Police Station.
