Shirva: Heavy rain and strong winds cause dammage to the house

Shirva, 24 September 2010: The thunderstorm an d heavy rain accompanied with strong winds during the night of Thursday, 23rd September 2010 led to the collapse of a huge tree on the house of Akkani Safalthi near Shirva Nyarma Society. Due to the impact of the  tree hundreds of tiles as well as the wooden structure underneath the tiles have been damaged. The total damage has been estimated to the tune of Rs.50,000/-

 

 

Prasanna Kumar, Tahshildar of Udupi Taluk visited the spot of the incident along with the member of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat, Gerald Fernandes, the Village Accountant Gururaj Bhat, Village Secretary Vasudeva salian, Grama Panchayat members, Conrad Castelino and Gopalkrishna Prabhu who investigated the nature of the damage caused by the collapse of the tree.
