Mangalore: Roman & Catherine Lobo School For Blind celebrates Annual Day in City

Mangalore, 14 Dec 2013: The fourth annual day celebrations of Roman and Catherine Lobo School for the Blind, Kotekani, here was held at Town Hall, here on Friday December 13.
MLA J R Lobo presided the function here on Friday December 13.
The zilla panchayat CEO Tulasi Maddineni was the chief guest.
Tulasi Maddineni, while addressing the gathering pledged the government’s support in the development of the infrastructure of the school. She further said that the differently-abled students are like any other normal citizens.
MLA J R Lobo while assuring all help to the school stressed that he would work for the welfare of the differently-abled people.
Three students Pradeep Kumar of the High school section, Sathwik from the Middle school section and Gowrav from the Primary school section were presented prizes for their achievements in the academic year 2012-13.
The differently-abled students presented Yakshagana play ‘Gurudakshine’ as part of cultural programmes.
The veteran Yakshagana artiste Ravi Alevuraya who trained the students to present Yakshagana play ‘Gurudakshine’ was honored on the same occasion.
Bhavya rendered the prayers. The teacher Deepti welcomed the gathering. The school principal Calistus D’Sa read the annual report. The teacher Nagalaxmi proposed vote of thanks. The teacher Bhagyashree compered the programme.
An exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts which were specially made by the students was held on the occasion.
