Beltangady: 16 yr old girl molested by two; Culprits arrested
Beltangady, 13 Nov 2013: Police on Tuesday, November 12, arrested duo for allegedly molesting a 16 yr old girl. The incident took place at Mittabagilu village.
The case was registered at Beltangady police station on Tuesday, November 12.
The arrested are Santosh T.V. (43), a resident of Mittabagilu and B. Jagdish (25), a resident of Malavantige village.
Molestation at home:
As per sources, the victim’s mother and grandmother had been to the market and since her brother was in school, she was alone at home and hence visited nearby house of Santosh, a person well known to the family.
As per the statement recorded from the girl, she had visited Santosh’s house in order to talk to his wife. Santosh however had informed her that his wife had gone to Bangalore.The girl remained in his house even when he visited the market in the evening.
After returning home from the market, he allegedly behaved indecently with the girl and told he had divorced his wife. He also told her that he was wealthy took advantage of her promising he would marry her.
Later, when the girl was on her way back home after 10 p.m, was allegedly offered drop by Jagdish, his Indica car. He then allegedly took her to a rubber farm in Bedigutthu, Didupe, put a tarpaulin there and molested her.
Car damaged:
As per reports, the girl told Jagdish that she had forgotten her burkha at Santosh’s house. Hence both of them went back to get the burkha.
Meanwhile, Siddique, girl’s uncle and a few other boys, gathered near Santosh’s house.
Jagdish was beaten up and his car was damaged. The girl also received beatings.
A case pertaining to molesting a minor is filed against Santosh and Jagdish as per the complaint lodged by the girl. Jagdish, on the other hand, has filed a counter complaint alleging assault.
