Manipal: Child molestation case, two arrested

 

Manipal, 22 Sep 2013: When people were about to come out from the gruesome incident where a medical student was gang raped by the three auto drivers, another incident of molestation has taken place in the education town.

 

Adding insult to the injury is the fact that this time a school going kid was subjected to such an inhumane act. What was more shocking was that the people who were responsible for reaching the girl safely to her house were the perpetrators. This is not an yesterday’s incident we are talking about but one which occurred a week ago.

 

About the incident:

A nursery school going kid studying at MadhavaKripa school in Manipal was molested by the school bus conductors. The incident occurred on September 16, but came to light much later. The police have arrested the attender cum conductor identified as Shubhakumar (24), a resident of Hebri, and Sudheer (46), a resident of Adarshnagar also a conductor, on Sunday, September 22 in connection with this case.

 

The two were produced before the Udupi Magistrate and sent to judicial custody.

 

The girl is a nursery student and opted school bus for the regular travel. As per the sources, the girl was molested in the rickshaw and later dropped back to her home in the same rickshaw rather than dropping in the bus.

 

It is also learnt that the parents of the kid have taken the MadhavaKripa school authorities to task for having dropped the kid in rickshaw rather in bus.

 

Sources claim that a meet was called by the school authorities where action was taken against the wrong-doers. The investigation will be led by DySP Savitha Hoogar said Sadananda Thippananavar, Inspector, Manipal.

 

Revealed only after two days of crime

The girl revealed the incident to her parents after two days of the crime. The parents registered a case on Friday, September 20. The girl was then taken for medical examination.
