Bantwal: Mega Health Camp & Health Facilities Inaugurated at Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay

Bantwal, 26 Oct 2013: Inauguration of C T Scaner, C R X-ray and Lab Auto Analyser along with a mega free health checkup camp in association with Lions and Lioness Club, Bantwal was organized at Father Muller Hospital, Thumbay, here on Saturday October 26.
The state forest and Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge B Ramanath Rai was the chief guest of the occasion.
B A Group – Thumbay founder and chairman B Ahmed Haji Mohiuddeen was the guest of honour.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore diocese presided the function.
Father Muller Charitable Institutions director Fr Patrick Rodrigues, Father Muller Medical College Hospital administrator Fr Richard Coelho, Father Muller Medical College administrator Fr Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Administrator, Lions Club – Bantwal president S J Acharya Father Muller Medical College dean Dr Jayaprakash Alva were also present.
The minister B Ramanath Rai while addressing the gathering said, ‘Father Muller Charitable Institution has been serving the people since so many years. Introducing such advanced health facilities will help in contributing to the health sector at large,’ said minister Ramanath Rai.
He congratulated Father Muller Charitable Institutions and Lions Club for taking this initiative of organizing a mega health camp which will contribute towards the wellbeing of the community health,’ said minister Rai.
Speaking on the occasion, S J Acharya said, ‘The main aim behind organizing this mega health camp is to provide good health services. Therefore, people are requested to make use of this camp,’ said Acharya.
Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza said, ‘C T Scaner, C R X-ray and Lab Auto Analyser has been inaugurated. Through this, Father Muller Charitable Institutions has given a great gift to the society. As much as best education is important, best health services are also important. Thumbay being a rural area should also have the best of best healthcare facilities. Father Muller Hospital Thumbay is a well- equipped multispecialty hospital and the intention is to fulfill and cater to the needs of the people.
Eminent doctors from the department of medicine, OBG, pediatrics, dermatology, ophthalmology and other departments provided free consultation services and necessary health facilities to the patients.
Free checkup for anaemia, diabetes, breast and uterus cancer screening, physical fitness and obesity was also done.
Around 253 adults and 300 patients were benefited by the camp.
