Moodubelle, 25 August 2010: It is a common practice among common people to blame administration for any kind of inconvenience they face and remain unmoved. Be it the roads or any other amenities which require immediate attention. During rainy season, the muddy roads get eroded due to flow of rain water and wild plants and bushes grow by the side making the movement of  smaller vehicles like rickshaws difficult and even for residents of the area to walk freely on such patches of roads.

However, rather than depending on the  administration, certain work on the improvement of the amenities can be undertaken by the local people themselves. This was exactly what was done by  the residents between Kukkupalke and Mulikambla  by mending the inner road between these two localities connecting the Moodubelle-Arbi road.  Realizing  the difficulties faced by the people of the area, Ms. Teresa Lobo took up the leadership and mobilized the local residents on Tuesday, 24 August 2010 in the afternoon and  cleared the inner road from Kukkuplake to Mulikambla a distance of nearly a kilometer. By this voluntary  this group of residents proved that rather than waiting the administration, it would be prudent to join hands and get the work done, thus giving a lesson in unity and cooperation.

"Community Service" is an integral part of living in a neighborhood in US, Europe and some affluent countries that I have seen. Those who help themselves, God and Government helps.

If communities can join together to build houses of worship and schools, level play grounds etc why not repair roads? The tax payers money can be spent on some other developments which require qualified hands to carry out. Keep up the good work and encourage others to do the same.

Just blaming the government or panchayat will not yield result. Instaed we the people should work together and handle such local community jobs. Great job done Ms.Teresa Lobo, keep going

Good work by the residents. Others also please take initiative in cleaning the roadsides of your locality.
