Bantwal: Parishioners of Nainad Church Repair Damaged Road

Bantwal, 29 June 2011: Parishioners of Nainad church undertook massive road repair work through voluntary service between Neralakatte and Nainad on Sunday June 26. The initiative was undertaken jointly by Catholic Sabha and Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) units of Nainad.
Parish priest of Nainad, Fr Frederick Monteiro, symbolically inaugurated the repair work. Catholic Sabha president, Ambrose Moras, parish council vice-president, Sylvester Pinto, ICYM unit president, Melwyn Rodrigues, and Sr Marina FSM, were present along with many others.
The work began at 9.30 am. A number of local people, who appreciated the initiative, joined hands in the road repair work. The work continued till 5.30 pm. Several local leaders, including MLA, B Ramanath Rai, visited the place, inspired the volunteers and appreciated their work.
About 100 people worked together to improve the condition of this badly damaged road. Breakfast and lunch were served to them by the members of Catholic Sabha and ICYM, Nainad church.
