Shirva Varado YCS Cultural Competition held at Holy Cross Church, Pamboor

Udupi, 10 Sep 2013: The cultural competition was held at Pamboor on 9 September, 2013 at 3pm. Varado YCS director Rev.Fr.Maxim D’Souza, parish priest of Pamboor Rev. Fr. Paul Rego were present. Six out of eleven teams participated in the competition. The competition was divided into 3 rounds first round: singing competition, second round: skits(based on Bible) and third round: dance competition.

 

Neil Quadras, Mrs.Anitha Alva and Rev.Fr.Mahesh D’Souza were the judges. The programme started with the prayer and people from each group participated in all the rounds. There was a closing ceremony after the competition Rev.Fr.Paul Rego presided over the closing function, Prakash Noronha was the guest of honour.

 

 

Mrs.Saritha Alva welcomed everyone and introduced the guest and the judges to the gathering. Miss Evita florally welcomed everyone. Mr.Prakash appreciated the efforts taken by YCS unit Pamboor to organize the program, He also told that today’s youth has to be aware of the things happening around them because youths most of the time are busy with today’s gadgets.

 

Rev.Fr.Maxim congratulated everyone. Rev.Fr.Paul congratulated Mrs.Saritha Alva and her team for the success of the program. He also appreciated the teams which took part in the competition. Diocese YCS president and secretary were also present. Fr.Mahesh gave his feedback about the competition. The Dean of Shirva Deanery, Rev. Fr. Stany Tauro was present during the programme.Miss Josna Menezes proposed the vote of Thanks. Rev.Fr.Maxim announced the results of the competition.
