Mangalore: Konkani Natak Sabha ® organizes Inter-Parish elocution Competition

Mangalore, 04 Aug 2013: Konkani Natak Sabha® organized elocution competition at Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday August 4. The competition was held in 4 categories - below 10 years, 10 to 15 years, 15 to 30 years and above 30 years.
In the below 10 years category 9 competitors from 7 parishes took part in the competition. In the women’s division, Shaina D’Silva from Bondel parish bagged first place, Sonal Crasta from Vamanjoor stood second place and Rishel Castelino from Angelore parish secured the third place. In men’s division, Aldon Vinoy D’Souza from Bajpe parish bagged first place.
In the 10 to 15 years category women’s division, 27 competitors from 11 parishes took part in the competition. In women’s division Lish Pereira from Valencia parish bagged first place, Merula Pinto from Bejai parish stood second place and Ashel Sequeira from Bondel parish secured the third place. In men’s division, Brian Peris from Gurpur parish bagged first place, Angelo Sucheth Noronha from Cordel parish stood second place and Mervin Lobo from Gurpur parish, third place.
In the 15 to 30 years category, 8 competitors from 8 parishes took part in the competition. In the women’s division, Amora Monteiro from Vamanjoor parish bagged first place, Femina Lolin Moras from Bajpe parish secured second place and Mercita D’Souza from Milagres parish secured the third place. In men’s division, Roshan Goveas from Bondel parish bagged first place.
In the above 30 years category, 9 competitors from 7 parishes took part in the competition. In women’s division, Edna Noronha from Cordel parish bagged first place, Sapna Saldanha from Vamanjoor parish secured second place and Lizzy Fernandes of Paldane secured the third place. In men’s division, Jacob D’Souza of Modankap parish bagged first place, Cyril Fernandes from Paldane parish secured second place and Charles Fernandes from Paldane parish the third place.
Florin Roche, J F D’Souza and Flora Castelino were the jurors of the competitions.
Fr Cyprian Peter D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Martin D’Souza compered the programme. Convener Gladys Rego introduced the jurors. The general secretary Sunil Menezes proposed vote of thanks and announced the results.
